Mark your calendars for July 26-28, 2024, as the Rockhampton Riverside Precinct bursts into a dazzling display of colour, culture, and festivity, promising delights for all.

The Rockhampton River Festival is a lively celebration of music, art, food, and local culture, offering unforgettable moments with live entertainment, interactive workshops, delicious cuisine, and much more.

This year marks the festival's 10th anniversary (aptly named 'River Fest X' - the X symbolising the 10 year celebration) and honours a decade of growth, transformation and community spirit in the region since it's inception in 2014.

What's on at River Fest

Explore Live Music

Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as the picturesque backdrop of the Fitzroy River (Tunuba) sets the stage for three days of pure excitement, with each day offering a distinct musical experience!

Prepare to groove and sing along all night long with ARIA Award Winners Eskimo Joe, along with country legend Travis Collins, local favourites The Short Fall, and folk artist Georgie Winchester.

This stellar lineup showcases a diverse range of talents spanning rock, blues, roots, alternative, folk, and country genres.

The Tunuba Main Stage and Shipyard Stage will host an exciting mix of performances at this free music festival, promising the most dynamic event to date!

Festivities kick Friday 26 July, 2024 with the country on quay, captivating audiences Tunuba Stage, followed by two nights brimming musical adventure, culminating in Eskimo Joe's performance Sunday.

Get ready for a weekend filled with infectious vibes, entertainment, and a vibrant celebration of Rockhampton's cultural heritage by the riverside.

The essence of River Fest lies in the memorable experiences awaiting you.

Immerse yourself in interactive art installations, wander through a glowing neon garden, explore a creatively transformed canteen, or secure a ticket to one of the captivating performances at the exquisite Customs House. Prepare the whole family for a myriad of experiences including:

Explore Food and Markets

River Fest features the much-anticipated return of Flavours of the World, inviting attendees on a gastronomic journey through diverse cuisines such as Thai, German, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian, and Hungarian. 

Located adjacent to the Tunuba Main Stage, it promises a delightful fusion of aromas and tastes.

For those seeking a pick-me-up or decadent treats, a variety of food vendors are scattered throughout the festival grounds, with a central hub in the Shipyard Zone offering loaded spuds, churros, gelato, and more.

Adding to the excitement is the introduction of Market Village, positioned between Derby and Williams Streets. Featuring over 35 stalls, this area showcases handmade jewellery, leather goods, spices, confections, and even pet accessories, ensuring something for every visitor.

As a highlight of the River Festival Community Arts Program, the Artist Collective celebrates local talent with 20 artists displaying their works along Quay Street on Saturday, July 27.

In a nod to sustainability, the festival debuts Thrift It, a marketplace promoting mindful consumerism within the Artist Collective Zone on Sunday, July 28. Encouraging attendees to embrace sustainable choices, Thrift It invites exploration of pre-loved fashion treasures, fostering positive impacts one item at a time.

The Rockhampton River Festival will feature artistic experiences throughout its entirety. This includes exhibitions at Rockhampton Museum of Art, Arts on the Fringe hosted at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre, the Artist Collective situated on Quay Street, artists in residence, and a series of engaging workshops.
