For a not-to-be-missed photo opportunity, head up to Mount Archer (Nurim) National Park and take in spectacular sweeping views of the city from up high. If you head along early morning or late afternoon you'll also capture vivid sunrises or sunsets in your photo to make Instagram Influencers jealous of your photo. Before you head up, pack a picnic so you can sit back, relax and take in the views while enjoying a bite to eat.
Tip: To get the best photo, weave your way through the Nurim Circuit elevated boardwalk with impressive treetop views over the mountain.

Along the Fitzroy River lies Rockhampton's Riverside precinct. From here you can take spectacular landscape shots of the river and it's natural flora and fauna, with boats dotted along the water. If you're an avid angler, book a fishing charter to snap that trophy barra or king threadfin. If you prefer wine over fishing, then make your way to the Boathouse Restaurant overlooking the river for the perfect sunset wine shot.

You can't visit the Beef Capital of Australia without a tour of our beef industry icons. Jump in the car and discover our wonderful world of bulls with a bull statue tour. The best place to stop for a selfie is at the Frank Forde Park on Upper Dawson Road.

Stroll through Rockhampton's CBD and its laneways - not only will you discover Australia's longest stretch of heritage listed buildings, you'll also stumble across some of the city's best street art, all by locals.
Tip:head along Quay Street to Fitzroy Bridge, near the Criterion Hotel. You'll find artwork by a local Indigenous artist.
