Shopping & Markets
Shop Till you Drop
From homewares to handbags, saddles to sandals, cute boutiques and fresh farmers markets, Rockhampton's got just about everything on your shopping list.
MUST DO MARKETS
Rockhampton is of course the Beef Capital of Australia, producing some of the best beef but our Region’s sub-tropical climate is also well suited for growing a range of seasonal produce.
On the weekend, car parks and open spaces are transformed into local markets around the region, offering the best local and organic produce as well as handicrafts, home-made items and knick knacks.
We’ve outlined some our favourites that are a must-visit below. For a full list of upcoming markets, check out our events calendar.
Boutique shopping
Nestled amongst the quirky cafes, restaurants and a micro-brewery, Rockhampton's shady tree lined avenue, East Street is a great spot to get your boutique shopping fix. Venture a little further out of the CBD to William Street and Wandal and you'll be even more surprised. Grab a coffee from one of the cafes and spend a morning or afternoon wondering through these fantastic shops, all while admiring the heritage architecture along the way.
Major retailers
For major retailers like Witchery and Mimco, head to Stockland Rockhampton on Yaamba Road. Home to nearly 200 speciality stores, a six screen cinema complex, off site restaurants and an expansive food court area including an alfresco dining terrace, this sprawling centre offers the best of fashion, home and lifestyle all under the one roof, with convenient and free underground and outdoor parking. City Central Plaza and Allenstown Shopping Square are also great central shopping centres with all your speciality stores including Woolworths, Coles and bottle shops.
