Free Caravan Dump Point
Appropriate waste disposal is an important part of caravanning.
An unpleasant part of going on a road trip in a caravan is having to regularly empty your waste into a public dump point station.
Rockhampton Regional Council provides a free caravan waste dump point and potable water refill at the Explore Rockhampton Visitor Information Centre, 176 Gladstone Road, Allenstown, QLD 4700.
Access can be made via Ferguson Street, behind the centre.
The free caravan waste dump point is located behind the Explore Rockhampton Visitor Information Centre, in Ferguson Street, Allenstown.
Potable water is water that is intended for use as drinking water. It can also be used for other domestic purposes including cooking, washing up, bathing and showering.
Rockhampton Regional Council's free dump point offers a place for caravan users to dispose of their grey and black water, as well as sewage waste.
It is the most environmentally friendly method of emptying waste from your caravan.
The dump point is available for use 24/7.
The dumping point also features a potable water refilling station located on the ambulant toilet directly behind the dump point. This water is safe for human consumption.
Travellers are welcome to fill their water bottles as required for drinking with the potable drinking water tap.
Free Camping at Kershaw Gardens
Conveniently close to nearby shopping centre and surrounded by greenery, Kershaw Gardens offers a great place for caravanners to stop, see and stay for up to 48 hours for free.
The free camping site is located on the High Street entrance to the gardens, via the roundabout.
Please note:Your vehicle must be self contained that your vehicle must allow you to wholly contain and store:
- All 'Grey Water' you generate
- All 'Black Water' you generate
- All rubbish you generate

Discovery Parks Rockhampton offers the use of their dump point to non-park visitors for a fee of $10. This can be arranged by visiting their reception during office hours.
There is also a free dump point located at the Visitor Information Centre in Yeppoon
