PARKLANDS

The Kershaw Gardens parklands is a spacious and picturesque parkland that stretches for one kilometre along the Bruce Highway, providing a subtropical oasis right in the heart of town.

The parklands are divided into three precincts; the Northern Precinct, Central Precinct and Southern Precinct, with wide open spaces and winding footpaths throughout.

In the Northern Precinct you’ll find a beautiful waterfall with viewing deck and an easy paced walking trail through the People’s Forest, Grevillea Hill and Wetlands. You’ll also find access to the free campground off High Street.

The Central Precinct is a kid’s paradise! Seen from the highway, Wyatt’s Wonder Web stands nine metres high with climbing ropes, ladders, tunnels, slides, swinging hammocks and so much more. If that doesn’t wear the kids out, then they can still check out the Fitzroy River water play area, monorail, flying fox, and timber play towers.

The Central Precinct has fantastic amenities including BBQ’s, undercover seating, free WiFi and bathrooms. You’ll also likely find a local coffee van parked out front serving up great coffee and snacks during the day.

Walking trails continue through to the Southern Precinct, weaving amongst the Southern Rainforest, Rainforest Rapids and Vietnam Veteran’s Hill.
